Stambaugh Youth Concert Band Presents Spring Concert Featuring Senior Soloist

The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band will close their 2020-2021 Season with a spring concert featuring a Senior Soloist, Justin Brown, and the presentation of the Barbara Armstrong Scholarship on Tuesday, April 13th at 7:30 PM. For the safety of the patrons, musicians, and staff, a limited number of in-person seats will be available in addition to being live-streamed.

The Spring 2021 Concert will feature brass ensembles, a clarinet choir, a flute choir, a saxophone sextet, and a percussion ensemble. The repertoire will include familiar works such as Ave Maria and Bohemian Rhapsody as well a piece from The Barber of Seville.

Senior Soloist, Justin Brown will be the featured clarinet soloist. Justin attends Mineral Ridge High School and has been playing the clarinet since the age of 11. In addition to the Stambaugh Youth Concert Band, Justin has participated in The Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra, The Ohio State University Honors Wind Symphony, The YSU Side-by-Side Wind Ensemble, and several other honors ensembles. Justin plans to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance this fall. A full interview with Justin will premier in The Digital Concert Hall app preceding the Spring Concert.

The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band is comprised of 54 of the top high school musicians from Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. The SYCB is currently under the direction of Mr. Tyler Husosky and Dr. Michael Crist.

Tickets for the in-person portion of the concert are on sale now and are $8.00, inclusive of all fees. All tickets for the in-person concert must be pre-purchased, seats will be reserved and socially-distanced. Tickets are available on the main floor only. The concert will also be live-streamed to the Stambaugh Auditorium “Digital Concert Hall” app, Stambaugh Auditorium website, and to the Stambaugh Auditorium YouTube channel at no cost.

The doors for the concert will open at 6:45 PM. The concert and live stream will start at 7:30 PM. For the safety of our guests, musicians, and staff, there will be no concessions, no walk-up ticket sales, and no items distributed to guests at the concert.
