Event Assistant – Part Time
The Event Assistant must be a motivated and enthusiastic person with the ability to provide outstanding customer service while organizing memorable events that exceed expectations from conception to completion. The postition is primarily responsible for providing support in coordinating, planning, and executing private events, the majority of which are weddings. At times, support with other types of events will be required. The Event Assistant will be directly involved with vendor coordination, contract execution, client meetings, building tours, event execution, support of other departments, and other responsibilities and tasks as needed. Candidates must have excellent verbal and communication skills, be highly organized with the ability to meet multiple concurrent deadlines, be able to provide outstanding customer service and remain professional at all times, be detail oriented and have the ability to multitask, be able to think and respond quickly to offer solutions to challenges in an efficient manner, and have strong technology skills, including: Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite. The scheduled hours for this position will include weekdays, events, and weekends. Regular daytime and evening availability on Friday and Saturday is a must.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with in-person customer services with outstanding customer service skills.
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- The ability to work well with groups
- Professionalism in interactions, language, personal presentation, work habits, and in performance of day to day tasks
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspaces, and other computer/technology knowledge.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with an ability to set and follow through with priorities, maintain files and documentation, set and meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, work independently, and to carry out assignments without prompting and with minimum supervision.
- Flexibility in work schedule, availability for all events as needed. Hours will include weekends and evenings including many Fridays and Saturday daytime and evenings.
- Ability to identify and maintain confidential information
Experience and Background Required:
High school graduation or equivalent. Experience working in the event / entertainment / hospitality or similar industry.
Job Type: part time (average of 25 to 30 hours per week)
Compensation Range: $15 to $17 per hour
Benefits: paid time off (after one (1) year of employment)
