Buy your seat today! The Best Seat in the House. • Beginning mid-June, restoration of the main auditorium began. The Dependable Painting Co. of Cleveland, Ohio began restoring the coffered ceiling to its original colors and splendor using various techniques including sponging, mottling, and stenciling. Gold leaf decoration will be re-applied to various art forms such as egg and dart, beading, and leafing. During this time, the original brass and bronze chandeliers were restored to their original beauty. Currently, all of the woodwork and molding in the auditorium is being re-finished to its orignal luster. All stone work including the Corinthian columns have been power washed and cleaned using a baking soda and water solution under pressure. This phase of the work was accomplished by VIP Restoration Co. The
next phase of the process is planned to begin September 26, with
the installation of new royal blue carpeting featuring a wreath
and medallion design in red and gold. This will complete this
year's restoration of Stambaugh Auditorium's Concert Hall. Plans
to refurbish the seating within the concert hall to a royal blue,
complementary to the newly installed carpeting are aimed for
the summer of 2005. Fund-raising to begin shortly. |
