  YSU Greek Sing

YSU’s fraternities and sororities perform in this entertaining musical competition, which features serious acts to those of side-splitting hilarity. Each year, the Greek Life committee and co-chairs pick a theme for the night. The theme for this year's program is "A Year in Music.” The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges based on singing ability and presentation.

One of America’s leading concert organists, David Higgs is also chair of the Organ Department at the Eastman School of Music. He performs extensively throughout the United States and abroad. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Manhattan School of Music and was appointed to the faculty there upon his graduation.

  Stambaugh Youth Concert Band

The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band (SYCB) will close the 2014-2015 season with their spring concert featuring a selected senior soloist and the presentation of the Barbara Armstrong Scholarship Award. The band, under the direction of Dr. John Veneskey and Dr. Brandt Payne, is comprised of high school students from Northeast OH and Western PA.

The YSU Concert Band will perform works by Vaughan Williams and Andrew Boysen, Jr. among others. The Concert Band is a part of the Dana School of Music and holds multiple performances in the Concert Hall each year.

Enjoy classic food and drinks from beloved Valley restaurants. The event will feature favorite local cuisine such as:  pierogis, spinning bowl salads, Italian greens, corned beef, and much more! Enjoy libations from local wineries and breweries. This year, local chefs will produce classic dishes with a twist and all made with locally grown produce and meat. The event is a joint fundraiser with Grow Youngstown, Stambaugh Auditorium, and the Tyler History Center. Historian, Tom Welsh, who wrote the book Classic Restaurants of Youngstown, will also be in attendance. 
Monday April 27    YSU Orchestra & Wind Ensemble

The Dana School of Music Symphony Orchestra and YSU Wind Ensemble will present a concert entitled, “All American.” Their repertoire will include:  “Strange Humors” by John Mackey, “Cloud of Witnesses (consortium)” by D.J. Sparr, “Movement for Rosa” by Mark Camphouse, and “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin.
